Mission Projects

In recent years Messiah has directed energy and resources to a handful of local projects that aim specifically at sharing the Gospel of Christ with people who need to hear and trust it. Here are a couple of them.

Faith Mission Project
Faith Lutheran Church in Lakewood, a few miles northeast of Fairview Park, was once a thriving, busy congregation. Today average Sunday attendance is about 50. Approached for help by Faith's leaders, Messiah began in 2008 to supply pastoral services for the church while at the same time working with the leadership to develop and implement a mission to the neighborhood. Building Hope in the City began consulting on the project late in 2009. The immediate task is to find an effective leader with strong evangelistic gifts who will devote his or her full-time energies to gathering a new worshiping community under the umbrella of the existing congregation. Of all who read this we ask prayers that the Holy Spirit will quickly send us this person and bless the work that he or she will undertake. We will post updates here as they become available.
Luther Memorial School
Luther Memorial School is located in Old Brooklyn, serving grades preschool through Grade 8. Opening in the 2016-17 school year, our West Campus has grades kindergarten through Grade 6. Grades 7 and 8 will be added in subsequent years at the West Campus. At either campus, our children grow academically and spiritually in a family-oriented environment. We follow State of Ohio Academic Content Standards and students are assessed annually with the Ohio Achievement Test. Every student has a goal of improving their reading and math growth by 5 months every academic quarter.
