Welcome to Music Ministry at Messiah!
The congregation is Messiah’s premier musical ensemble and meets weekly to receive the gifts of God and respond with thanksgiving and joy through song. Are you interested in how Messiah’s congregational liturgy, hymns, and songs are chosen? Read below.
Many other opportunities exist within Messiah’s Music Ministry to share vocal, instrumental, and other musical talents. Please take a couple of minutes to fill out the Musical Talents Survey found on the bottom of this screen.

How are Messiah’s liturgy, hymns, and songs chosen?
Congregational singing is at the heart of Messiah’s Music Ministry. Each week the music is chosen based on several considerations. The primary consideration is how the music can deliver the words and themes of the appointed Bible readings in yet another way. Also considered are the season of the Church year as well as special events or celebrations for the day, such as baptisms, blessing of volunteers, rally day, etc. A third and important consideration is the familiarity and singability of the hymns. This is one area in which you can help--by filling out the the Musical Talents Survey below (even if only to share your favorite hymn).
